Simulation of Rayleigh Bubble Growth near a No-Slip Rigid Wall

چکیده
In order to study the role of growing cavitation bubbles in context ultrasonic cleaning, we perform two-dimensional, axisymmetric Navier-Stokes simulation for compressible, multicomponent flow and examine so-called Rayleigh growth an air bubble (with initial radius 33 µm pressure 10 MPa) near a rigid wall. The suggests that strong shear stress, which is important physical cleaning such as particle removal, appears result bubble-growth-induced shock passage. parametric with varying standoff distance wall shows stress linearly decreases against distance.

Simulation of hydrodynamically interacting particles near a no-slip boundary
The dynamics of spherical particles near a single plane wall are computed using an extension of the Stokesian dynamics method that includes long-range many-body and pairwise lubrication interactions between the spheres and the wall in Stokes flow. Extra care is taken to ensure that the mobility and resistance tensors are symmetric, positive, and definite—something which is ineluctable for parti...
متن کاملThe projection method for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations: The pressure near a no-slip wall
An explicit staggered projection method for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with no-slip walls is analyzed and used in simulations to address several issues related to the pressure boundary condition required when the continuity equation is replaced by the standard pressure Poisson equation (PPE), ∇p = ∇ · (−u · ∇u+ f). First, it is shown that a PPE system supplemented with a Neumann...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation for Cavitation Bubble Near Free Surface and Rigid Boundary
In order to investigate a single vacuum bubble collapse near the free surface and the rigid boundary, the moving particle simulation (MPS) method has been used. Liquid and gas phase were defined by the moving particles and bobble shape was determined by the position of interface particle. The calculation was performed with four parameters; bubble radius, distances from free surface or rigid bou...
متن کاملBrownian motion near a partial-slip boundary: A local probe of the no-slip condition
Motivated by experimental evidence of violations of the no-slip boundary condition for liquid flow in micrometer-scale geometries, we propose a simple, complementary experimental technique that has certain advantages over previous studies. Instead of relying on externally induced flow or probe motion, we suggest that colloidal diffusivity near solid surfaces contains signatures of the degree of...
متن کاملRapidly computable viscous friction and no-slip rigid contact models
This article presents computationally efficient algorithms for modeling two special cases of rigid contact— contact with only viscous friction and contact without slip—that have particularly useful applications in robotic locomotion and grasping. Modeling rigid contact with Coulomb friction generally exhibits O(n) expected time complexity in the number of contact points and 2 worst-case complex...
